Research Profiles and Repository: Guide

Adding your Researcher IDs

Researcher IDs are persistent identifiers (PID) that uniquely distinguish you as a researcher and connect you to your research activity.

They identify you and your research outputs and group together information such as your name, affiliation, details of your publications, research interests, funding details, or scholarly achievements.

Researcher IDs also enable the library to locate and import your research outputs into the system automatically.

If you have not created any Researcher IDs, it means the only way you can add research outputs to the system is by adding them manually which will increase the possibility of your research outputs being missed or perhaps not listing your most recent publications in your researcher profile.

A current researcher profile that is reflective of your recent activity:

  • Increase the visibility and accessibility of your research outputs
  • Assist researchers, students, journalists, potential collaborators, and funding bodies to find you and your publications
  • Provide access to metrics and quality indicators to support applications for grants or promotion

If you have not created any Researcher IDs refer to the Researcher Identifier Subject Guide that details how to create Researcher IDs by each key provider.
