Managing Your Research Profile

The Research Profiles and Repository showcases Western’s research outputs and your Researcher Profile worldwide

Key sections in your Research Profile

Your Researcher Profile contains the key information about you, your research interests, areas of expertise and links to your research outputs. 
It is important to keep this current to ensure other researchers can find and contact you.

Search for your name on the Research Profiles and Repository to view your public Researcher Profile

After logging in, you can edit and update your information on your Researcher Profile.

The core sections in your Research Profile are:

  • Personal identification
  • Curriculum and research description
  • Organisational affiliations
  • Education/Qualification
  • Keywords

Some information is populated from the HR system that includes:

  • Personal Identification: First, Last and Name and Name Variant (you can manually add other variants)
  • Title
  • Staff Number (indicated as Employee ID)

We encourage you to populating the following sections:

Accessing the Profile Editor

To access the Profile Editor

1. Log in to Research Profiles Portal using the Research Profiles Portal Login button at the top of the page with your Western Credentials. 

2. Choose the Edit profile option and then, choose Metadata from side menuImage for Editing your profile

After each section you amend, ensure that you choose the save option at the bottom of the window to save your data.
