  • Research Profiles and Repository is the research repository that helps to provide open access to Western Sydney University research and makes it discoverable through key search engines.
  • The Research Portal (WSU employees only) includes researcher outputs and metrics, Western Reports, ERA Data, Grant Benchmarks SDGs and National Reports.

  • Maintaining an up-to-date profile requires you to follow procedures for submitting and/or claiming publications and depositing them into Research Profiles and Repository.

How to: Manage your WSU Researcher Profile

Staff Profiles

  • Staff Profiles help to promote researchers and research at WSU by making them easily discoverable online.
  • Staff can make changes to some of the profile fields, such as Career Highlights and Research Interests, by logging into Staff Profiles.
  • Publications display only reportable publications from Research Profiles and Repository and cannot be edited directly in Staff Profiles. To ensure your publications appear in your profile, check that you have claimed and deposited all your publications in ResearchDirect.
  • Funded Projects at Western Sydney University and Supervision data is fed from other systems. Contact the Research Office for help with these parts of your profile.

Research Portal

  • Research Portal is the administration system used to manage publications at Western Sydney University. Academic staff, researchers, and HDR candidates have a profile in the Research Portal to look after their publications.
  • The data in the Research Portal feeds into many other systems, such as the WSU Research Profiles and Repository, and many types of reporting for the university.
  • At Western Sydney University, researchers are required to:
    • Claim publications in a timely manner
    • Ensure reportable metadata is accurate
    • Upload a published version of their work (if the publication is not findable in Scopus or Web of Science)
    • Deposit the Accepted manuscript (also known as the postprint version) for traditional research outputs.
