Citation impacts normalised by the field, like the FWCI and CNCI, indicate how the number of citations received by a researcher’s publications compares to the average or expected number of citations from similar publications. Similar publications are determined by year, type, and discipline. The citations received in the year an item was published and the following three years are counted for this metric.
