It is important to critically evaluate all information found on the Web. The following sites represent a small selection of the potentially relevant Australian links and may act as a starting point.
Comcare is a Commonwealth statutory authority responsible for workplace safety, rehabilitation and compensation. Includes publications and fact sheets as well as links to information on occupational health and safety, rehabilitation, compensation, the SRC Commission, self insurance and training and education programs.
HFESA: Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia
The HFESA is the professional organisation of Australian ergonomists and human factors specialists and promotes the principles and practice of ergonomics. The site includes definitions, case studies, links to publications as well as websites containing Australian legislation and standards.
National Safety Council of Australia
Includes the text of recent newsletters, extensive links to Australian and overseas organizations with an interest in OH&S, and links to information sites on selected OH&S topics, such as hearing, drugs, ergonomics, hazardous materials.
Safe Work Australia
Safe Work Australia leads and coordinates national efforts to promote best practice in occupational health and safety and to improve worker's compensation arrangements, rehabilitation and return to work of injured workers. The website includes links to health and safety topics, statistical data and reports and industry information.

CCOHS: Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety
CCOHS aims to provide unbiased, relevant information relating to work-related injury and illness prevention. Sections include OSH answers, covering many topic areas in occupational health and safety such as risk factors in specific workplaces, biological and chemical hazards, prevention and control of hazards, psychosocial issues and occupational diseases, disorders and injuries.
International Organization for Standardization
ISO is the world's largest developer and publisher of International Standards. The website serves as a portal to information about standardization, standards and related matters.
National Institutes of Health (USA)
The NIH is composed of 27 institutes and centres and is the primary US federal agency for conducting and supporting medical research. NIH scientists investigate ways to prevent disease, as well as the causes, treatments and even cures for common and rare diseases.
NIOSH: National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (USA)
NIOSH is the US federal agency responsible for conducting research and making recommendations on occupational injury and illness. This site contains collections of occupational safety and health information and links to numerous NIOSH publications and information resources.
