If you are a visual learner or need tailored support, consider booking a Study Smart appointment. This is a free service where they can help you with your specific study needs to save you time and keep you stress-free.

  • Book a face-to-face or online appointment
  • Experts to match your needs in referencing, citation and finding the best information for your academic writing.

Study Smart Librarians can:

  • Help you get started with your assessment.
  • Help you develop a search strategy when looking for sources for your assessment.
  • Guide you with referencing tools and guides.
  • Assist you with Endnote and refer you to further help if needed.
  • Guide you with resources that help your academic writing and study skills.
  • Connect you with tools and services that help keep you organised and reduce study stress.


What to expect (average appointment breakdown)

Before Appointment

  • Book on the Study Smart website
  • Go to service desk at the time of your appointment and wait for the Study Smart Librarian to come.

First 3 minutes

  • Establishing the appointment, why are we here?
  • Discuss the student’s area of focus.
  • Set learning goals.

During the appointment – 15 minutes

  • Study Smart Librarian guides, explains and works through the specific study help needed.
  • Work through any challenges.
  • Students are encouraged to share their thinking to clarify their understanding.

Closing 2 minutes

  • Reflect on what has been achieved in this appointment.
  • Answer any remaining questions.
