New Researcher Profiles and Repository platform coming

by The Library on 2024-10-11T11:46:51+11:00 | 0 Comments

Western will be rolling out a new Research Profiles and Repository system as part of our research management ecosystem, replacing the current ResearchDirect repository and Staff Profile system.

With a planned launch of late October the new Research Profiles and Repository system will enhance our ability to manage, showcase, and collaborate on research activities effectively, facilitating greater collaboration opportunities.

The platform leverages Elsevier Pure’s capabilities, software which more than 350 institutions across 48 countries use to streamline research management and gain insights. This includes Australian universities such as Macquarie University, Monash University and University of Western Australia.

Researchers will be able to take advantage of the new contemporary profile interface that showcases their research outputs and activities making their research more visible than ever before.

A selection of academic staff across Schools and Institutes have recently completed Early Adoption reviews as part of the testing phase and results have been positive.

What support will be available?

Researchers can look forward to gaining admin access to the Research Profiles and Repository system from the 14th October. A targeted email to these staff members will be sent shortly.

To support the launch of the new platform, the Library will be hosting drop-in sessions via Zoom to provide an overview of the new system and assist with biography updates prior to the public launch. These sessions will be promoted on the Researcher Training page on our website.

In addition, the Library will be publishing a user guide and comprehensive FAQ’s.

Please do not hesitate to contact your School Librarian with any questions.
