Library Meet-ups at your campus

Our expert Librarians will be sharing effective study tips and tools at campus Library Meet-ups  to put you on the right path for assignment success.
Bring a coffee and a mate along to these informal sessions happening in week 2 – 4 at your campus library.
Sessions will cover planning and researching your first assignment, writing an assignment or report, mastering referencing & citation and improving your assignment with Studiosity.

13-17 March (Autumn week 2)

Starting your first assignment
This session will cover:

• Creating an assignment timeline to stay on track and submit on time
• Understanding the assignment question
• How to search for the right resources
•  Q&A and meet other students

This session will cover:

• Types of assessments – reviews, essays, reports, presentations
• Academic writing fundamentals

Week 3, 20-24 March:

Mastering referencing & citation
This session will cover:

• Why do I need to acknowledge my sources?
• Quoting, summarising, and paraphrasing
• Referencing styles used at Western

Improving your assignment with Studiosity
This session will cover:

• How to access Studiosity in your vUWS site to
  • get writing feedback on your draft assignment within 24 hours
  • chat with a subject specialist about a specific study question
• An example of writing feedback from Studiosity
