Did you know there is an exhibition space on the ground floor of the Kingswood campus library?
Western students and staff are invited to showcase their creative work that may be related to their studies or research.
The exhibition currently on display is Lustrous Lacquer legacy: A Glistening Journey Through Time and Space.
The exhibition shows the lacquer art of Western postgraduate student, Oliver (Junhaoran. LI), who is currently studying art therapy. Some of the artworks displayed are a part of his art therapy studies.
Lacquer is a very unique medium. It requires the involvement of moisture to dry, needing an environmental humidity of 80% using steam. Oliver describes this process as a reflection of us as humans, who draw strength from nature (water) to heal.
If you are a Western student or staff member who is interested in exhibiting your work please contact Emma Boddington, Outreach Librarian via email: email@example.com
